I sold this beautiful townhouse to a client who was referred to me in 2024. During the inspection, we discovered water leakage in the garage, so we made our offer conditional on the sellers fixing it. That took over six months, and by the time she officially became the owner, it was winter one of the toughest seasons to find a tenant.
While we were searching, disaster struck: a pipe burst due to freezing, and the house was vacant. She had to deal with repairs. Initially, she planned to rent it on Airbnb, but ended up asking me to find a long-term tenant instead. I referred her to a few contractors, she picked one, and the work got done. I eventually found a stable military tenant who loved the house and paid two months’ rent upfront, which eased her financial stress.
This was one of the toughest contracts of my career. I take my job seriously, sometimes too much, because I tend to carry my clients’ stress as if it were my own.
